FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – South Carolina swimmers Dominique Lendjel and Nicholas Walkotten continued competition at the 2008 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship on Friday, competing in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly events, respectively. Walkotten turned in Carolina’s top performance of the day, finishing 24th in the fly with a time of 47.39.
Walkotten matched his top time of the season with his mark during preliminary competition. He first set the mark in late February competing at the SEC Championship. Lendjel also competed on Friday in the 100 backstroke, finishing 31st with a mark of 49.41.
The duo will conclude competition at the event on Saturday with Lendjel in the 200 backstroke and Walkotten in the 200 butterfly. Prelims begin at 3 p.m. ET.
