The University of South Carolina men’s soccer team and the Columbia YMCA hosted their annual Child and Parents Soccer (CAPS) Clinic on Feb. 24 and 25 in Columbia. This was the eighth straight year for the event, which has raised more than $25,000 to benefit Children’s Chance, a local organization whose mission is to help children with cancer and their families.

This year’s clinic was attended by more than 40 kids who received instruction from the South Carolina coaching staff and players for two hours each day. Participants received clinic t-shirts along with Gamecock soccer posters and autograph cards.

Children’s Chance provides funding for programs and services that address the emotional, social and educational needs of children with cancer. For more information, call (803) 254-5996 or visit childrenschance.org.
