The Georgia at South Carolina football game, set for Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, will be televised nationally on ESPN, it was announced today. Game time is set for 7:45 p.m. ET.

The announcement ensures that South Carolina football will have at least three national exposures on ESPN this season. In addition to the home opener against the Bulldogs, the Gamecocks will play in front of a national audience in a pair of Thursday night contests – at Mississippi State in the season opener on Aug. 31 and at home against Auburn on Sept. 28. The Mississippi State game is slated to kickoff at 8 p.m. ET, while the Auburn game is set for a 7:30 p.m. kick.

The Gamecocks are coming off a 7-5 season, including a 5-3 record in SEC play. The team is scheduled to report to fall camp on Thursday, Aug. 3, with the first practice tentatively scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 5.
