Knoxville, Tenn. – Lindsey Tiberio had an astonishing performance in the 100-breaststroke during preliminary events beginning the third day of the Southeastern Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in Knoxville, Tenn.

Tiberio placed 5th with a time of 1:02.79 to qualify for the “A” cut. Amanda Dunnigan took 8th place in the 400-IM to earn a spot in the `B’ cut having a time of 4:20.02. Also for the Gamecock women, Christy Williams raced a season-best time of 54.32 for 11th place.

On the men’s side, Dan White (9th) and Colby Mack (12th) both advanced to the finals and made the qualifying “B” cut with season-best times of 1:37.80 (White) and 1:38.21 (Mack). Senior Tamas Bathazi also swam a season-best qualifying time of 1:38.41, which was good for 13th place.

South Carolina has four women and five men qualified for the final round tonight.
