Sept. 19, 2005

South Carolina’s football game at Auburn on Saturday, October 1, will be televised nationally by ESPN2. Game time is set for 7 p.m. ET at Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The Gamecocks and Tigers will be meeting for the first time since 1997 and for the first time at Jordan-Hare Stadium since 1996 when Auburn won 28-24. Auburn owns a 4-1-1 series advantage over USC.

The game will mark the fourth nationally televised contest for South Carolina in the first five games of the “Steve Spurrier Era.” Each of the first two games (versus Central Florida and at Georgia) were televised by ESPN, while last week’s game against Alabama was nationally televised by CBS. This week’s game against Troy is on an Alabama regional network, is part of ESPN Game Plan package, and also on the South Carolina pay-per-view network.
