The weather looks as if it is going to cooperate this weekend for the No. 23 South Carolina softball team as the Gamecocks host the Gamecock Invitational at Beckham Field Feb. 21-22. Participating in the tournament is Middle Tennessee, Radford and College of Charleston. The Gamecocks (4-0) will take the field at 1 p.m. against Middle Tennessee and follow with a game against College of Charleston at 3 p.m.

After getting rained out last weekend in Tallahassee, Fla., USC has not played in two weeks since opening weekend at North Carolina. This will be the first meeting for Carolina against all three teams competing in the tournament. Middle Tennessee enters the weekend 2-0, while College of Charleston is 3-0 and Radford is 2-4.

College of Charleston and Radford will open the tournament at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Radford will then follow with a match-up against Middle Tennessee at 11 a.m. USC will close out the afternoon with a doubleheader against Middle Tennessee and College of Charleston. On Sunday, College of Charleston and Middle Tennessee will meet at 9 a.m. followed by USC vs. Radford at 11 a.m. Championship play will begin at 1 p.m. with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds facing each other, and the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds meeting at 3 p.m. for the title.
