Men’s and Women’s Teams Named Scholar All-Americans
Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams have been selected by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as Scholar All-America Teams. The men and women posted GPAs of 3.13 and 3.59, respectively, to earn the honors.
In total, 728 teams from 450 colleges and universities earned the honor. Those with a GPA of 3.3 or higher will now become eligible for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.
Greg Earhart, CSCAA Executive Director highlighted South Carolina’s achievements noting, “Coach Poppell was a great hire this year and this is just another example of why. These 74 men and women are some of the best ambassadors that South Carolina and the SEC could ask for.”
The Gamecocks will compete in their final home event of the season on Sat., Jan. 29. The team will honor their 17 seniors before the meet begins at 10 a.m.
