Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s swimming and diving team returns to the pool this weekend competing at the SMU Women’s Classic on Friday and Saturday in Dallas, Texas. Also competing at the SMU Women’s Classic are Stanford, SMU, Florida, Indiana and Washington. The meet will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET on Friday and Saturday evening.
Each team’s squad consists of eight swimmers and one diver. Among the competitors for Carolina include All-Americans Jennifer VanAssen and Holly Hodges as well as Ashleigh Bastak, Bronwyn Dedekind, Kendel Fiorentino, Kaelon May, Carolynn McHugh, Haley Skaggs and Heather Skaggs. A swimmer may swim three events per day, but one must be a relay. There will be nine events held each day.

Carolina men and women’s swimming and diving returns home next weekend as both squads host Virginia on Friday, Oct. 31 with the meet scheduled for 3 p.m.
