Laitarovsky Concludes NCAA Debut

Minneapolis, Minn. – South Carolina men’s swimming & diving completed their second day of competition at the NCAA Championships on Friday. The Gamecocks had entries in both the swimming and diving events.

Representing the swimmers was sophomore Michael Laitarovsky in the 100 back. The Natanya, Isreal, native swam a 46.09 in the prelims, placing 31st overall.

His second season in the Garnet & Black concludes with a school record, SEC bronze medal, and an appearance at the National Championships.

Representing the divers was Manny Vazquez Bas on the 3-meter springboard. The senior scored a 354.40, placing 22nd overall out of 52 competitors.

Vazquez Bas will round out South Carolina’s appearance at the Championships tomorrow, competing in the platform diving event. Prelims will begin at approximately 1:00 p.m. ET with finals following at 7:00 p.m. ET. Live streaming for both sessions will be available on ESPN+.
