2023-24 (GRADUATE)

  • Saw limited time in the pool during the fall semester, did not compete during the spring
  • During the season opener at UNCW, won both the 1000 free and 400 IM
  • Won the 200 IM and placed third in the 500 free during South Carolina’s tri-meet versus Texas A&M and Virginia Tech
  • Finished second in the 200 free and third in the 200 back at Queens

PRE-SOUTH CAROLINA

  • Swam for four years at Louisville where she was a three-time NCAA qualifier
  • Was a consistent scorer at the ACC Championships for the Cards
  • As a freshman, Sumida joined the team in the spring and was able to tally six top-three finishes before earning her first NCAA qualification
  • During her junior campaign, the Brazilian posted seven top-8 finished throughout a season that was abbreviated due to the Covid-19 pandemic
  • Helped her team to place fourth at the NCAA Championships in 2019
  • Was an honorable mention All-American in the 800 free relay

PRE-COLLEGE

  • Represented Brazil at the 2017 World Junior Championships where she placed seventh in the 800 free relay
  • Earned multiple medals at the 2017 Youth South American Games
  • Was a national medalist at the 2018 Trofeu Jose Finkel
