Swimmers, Divers Split for Midseason Invites
Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina swimming & diving will split for their respective premiere events of the fall this week with the swimmers staying home to host the Gamecock Invitational and the divers traveling to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in the Tennessee Invitational.
The Gamecock swimmers will welcome seven teams to the Carolina Natatorium for the swim only invitational. Joining South Carolina will be UNCW, Gardner-Webb, Georgia Southern, Vanderbilt, UNF, University of Tampa, and Milligan University.
The invitational will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 15 and run through Friday, Nov. 17. Preliminary sessions will begin each day at 10:00 a.m. while finals sessions will begin on Wednesday and Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
Admission to the Gamecock Invitational is free for all sessions. Doors will open for spectators one hour prior to each session and a clear bag policy will be in effect. Spectators must remain in the upstairs gallery and will not be permitted on the pool deck at any time.
Pysch sheets, heat sheets, and results will be posted on the tournament information page and live results will be available on the subscription-based Meet Mobile app.
South Carolina’s divers will travel to the Tennessee Invitational that will run Nov. 15-17 at the Allen Jones Aquatic Center. Diving prelims will begin at noon on Wednesday and Thursday and at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The top 12 divers in each event will compete in the finals immediately following prelims.
The Tennessee Invitational will be streamed on the SEC Network+ and live stats will be available on Meet Mobile. Admission is free and a clear bag policy will be in effect.
