Pantano Secures Spot at NCAAs
Athens, Ga. – South Carolina swimming wrapped up the UGA Last Chance Invite with a second Gamecock booking her ticket to the NCAA Championships. Senior Bella Pantano earned her first berth to the national meet in the 200 back.
In a time trial of the event, Pantano swam a 1:53.40, a new career-best for the fourth-year. The time jumps her up to fourth in the program’s all-time top-10.
Also in a time trial, fellow senior Laura Goettler dropped time in the 200 breast. Goettler swam a 2:10.29 for her new career-best that was just .01 faster than her previous career-best that was set during the 2023 SEC Championships.
Selections for the NCAA Championships will be released on March 6th at noon on NCAA.com. The women’s championships will take place March 2-23 in Athens, Ga., while the men’s championships will take place March 27-30 in Indianapolis, Ind.
The Gamecock divers will represent the team next at the NCAA Zone B Dicing Championships that will take place March 10-13 in Athens.
