Athens, Ga. – South Carolina freshman diver Max Spencer punched his ticket to NCAAs on the final day of action at the Zone B Diving Championships on Wednesday.
The Essex, England, native placed sixth in the preliminary round with a score of 356.25 to earn a second set of dives in the finals. There, he retained his sixth-place finish with a 12-dive score of 705.95.

Spencer joins fellow freshman Connor Fry in representing the men’s team at the national meet this year. Fry earned his invitation in the 1650 free earlier in the day.
The men’s NCAA Championships will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana, March 27-30.
