Gamecock Radio Network Sets Team for 2019 Football Season

The Gamecock Radio Network will have some familiar voices and some new ones this fall as the radio crew for South Carolina Football gameday coverage was announced today by Liz McMillan, Executive Director, Gamecock Sports Properties.
 
Todd Ellis and Tommy Suggs will again provide the play-by-play and color commentary, respectively from the broadcast booth. Both Hall of Fame quarterbacks for the Gamecocks, Ellis is in his 28th season with the network and his 17th as the play-by-play voice of Carolina Football, while Suggs is back for his 47th year with the network, the second-longest active streak in college football.
 
New to the broadcasts this season will be former Gamecock and NFL standout Jamar Nesbit, who joins the crew as the sideline reporter. After being part of the great tradition at Summerville High School playing under the legendary John McKissick, Nesbit was a four-year letter winner for the Gamecocks from 1995-98. Signed by Carolina as an undrafted free agent, Nesbit logged 11 seasons in the NFL, playing offensive guard for the Panthers (1999-2002), Jacksonville Jaguars (2003) and New Orleans Saints (2004-09). He was a member of the Saints Super Bowl championship team.
 
Also new this year are Greg Brannon and Chris Miller. Brannon will serve as the Network Host, participating throughout the six-hour gameday broadcast. Miller will assist in the first two hours of the pregame show and will team with Brannon to handle the majority of the postgame show, which will air from the Hilton Columbia Center in downtown Columbia following home games. On road contests, Brannon and Miller will handle their on-air responsibilities from the studios of the Rock Hill affiliate, WRHI.
 
Brannon is a veteran broadcaster, having been a reporter, producer and anchor in several markets, including a 17-year stint as the Executive Producer for Television Broadcasting and Digital Media with the Carolina Panthers. He is currently an instructor in the University of South Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
 
Miller is in his 23rd year of sports broadcasting. The nine-time South Carolina Sportscaster of the Year Award winner has broadcast over 350 high school football games throughout the Palmetto State. For the past eight years, he has hosted “The Red Zone,” a football coaches’ show on Gamecock affiliates, WRHM and WVSZ.
 
Darren McPhail serves as the General Manager of Gamecock Sports Properties in Columbia. David Spence returns as the spotter in the broadcast booth, alongside statistician Doug Adams.
