Coach Hall Reveals 2025 Track & Field Slate
COLUMBIA, S.C. (Nov. 20, 2024) – South Carolina Track & Field second-year head coach Tim Hall has officially revealed the 2025 team schedule on Wednesday. The Gamecocks will compete in 22 total meets over a span of 20 weekends, with six meets being held in Columbia.
The Gamecocks surged in year one of the Tim Hall Era with 95 new Top 10 program identifiers and 21 new program records. During his first season, Coach Hall oversaw 27 All-American honors and coached a pair of indoor national championship events in the 4x400m relay and the 200m sprint. Hall was also responsible for coaching 19 All-SEC honorees and earned the title of USTFCCCA Southeast Region Women’s Coach of the Year for the outdoor season.
INDOOR COMPETITION
The Gamecocks will compete in 12 total indoor meets over a 10-week span, beginning on Friday, Dec. 6 when Carolina travels to Clemson for the Clemson Opener. Following the Clemson Opener, the Gamecocks will not compete until the home opener on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Gamecock Opener. South Carolina will also host the Carolina Challenge (Jan. 31), Gamecock Challenge (Feb. 1) and the USC Invite (Feb. 22) all within the confines of the Carolina Indoor Track & Field Facility.
The Gamecocks will put their skills to the test throughout the indoor season, including back-to-back weekends in Texas at the Corky Classic (Jan. 17-18) in Lubbock, Texas and the Ted Nelson Invite (Jan. 24-25) in College Station, Texas. South Carolina will also take part in the 62nd East Coast Invitational in Virginia Beach, Va. on Feb. 7-8. This year’s SEC Indoor Championship will be held in College Station, Texas on Thursday, Feb. 27 – Saturday, March 1. Meanwhile, this year’s NCAA Indoor Championship will be hosted at the Virginia Beach Sports Center on Thursday, March 13 – Saturday, March 15.
RUNNING OUTDOORS
South Carolina will open the outdoor season just one week after the NCAA Indoor Championship, playing host to the Weems Baskin Invitational on Friday, March 21 and Saturday, March 22. The Weems Baskin Invitational will also serve as Senior Day for the Gamecocks this season. The Gamecocks will host one more outdoor meet at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track, the Gamecock Invite on April 12. Sandwiched between the two home meets are the Raleigh Relays (March 27-28) and the Florida Relays (April 4-5).
South Carolina will close out the season with six consecutive meets away from home, including the Michael Johnson Invite in Waco, Texas on Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19. The 2025 SEC Outdoor Championship will be hosted at a familiar venue in Lexington, Ky. home of the 2024 NCAA East Regional. Two weeks after the SEC Outdoor Championship, the Gamecocks will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. for the NCAA East Regional beginning on Wednesday, May 28 and concluding on Saturday, May 31. This year’s NCAA Outdoor Championship will be back in Eugene, Ore. and will commence on Wednesday, June 11 and come to an end on Saturday, June 14.
