Gamecocks Prep for Midseason Invitationals
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina swimming and diving will divide for their respective midseason meets this week. The swimmers will stay home to host the fourth annual Gamecock Invitational, while the divers head to Knoxville, Tenn., for the Tennessee Invitational.
The Gamecock Invitational runs Nov. 18–21, with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday through Friday and finals starting at 6 p.m. each evening. Tuesday’s session will open competition at 4 p.m.
No. 15 South Carolina will welcome No. 21 North Carolina, Tampa, Florida Southern, Carson-Newman, East Carolina, North Florida, Georgia Southern, and Savannah College of Art and Design to the Carolina Natatorium.
Tampa (No.1/2), Florida Southern (No. 21/13) and Carson-Newman (No. 23/19) were all featured in this month’s CSCAA Division II poll.
Psych sheets, heat sheets, and results will be available on the Gamecock Invitational Information page, with live results accessible through the Meet Mobile subscription app.
Admission is free for all sessions. Doors will open one hour prior to each session, and the clear bag policy will be enforced. Spectators must remain in the upstairs gallery and are not permitted on the pool deck.
Meanwhile, South Carolina divers will join Tennessee, Arizona State, and Michigan at the Tennessee Invitational, held inside the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. Results will be posted on the DiveMeets app.
Diving prelims are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday and Friday, followed by finals at 2 p.m. On Saturday, the competition will conclude with a combined platform prelim (10 a.m.) and combined final (2 p.m.).
