Men's Swimming and Diving Post Highest Team GPA in the Nation
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina men’s swimming and diving team posted the highest team GPA in Division I for the Fall 2025 semester, as announced Tuesday by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
South Carolina earned a 3.70 cumulative team GPA, tying Duke University for the top men’s GPA among all Division I programs nationwide. The achievement helped the Gamecocks secure CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honors, the organization’s highest academic distinction.
“Words can’t express enough how proud I am of our men and their performance in the classroom this past semester,” said head coach Jeff Poppell. “They’ve done a fantastic job this year of committing to one another as well as putting in the necessary time, sacrifice and dedication to achieve this remarkable accomplishment. It’s a special group and they are very deserving of this recognition.”
The Gamecock women earned Scholar All-America Team honors as well, recording a 3.69 team GPA for the fall semester.
A total of 709 teams from 414 institutions were recognized nationally after meeting the CSCAA’s qualification standard of a 3.00 or higher team GPA during the fall semester. In total, 16,421 student-athletes earned Scholar All-America recognition.
