Gamecock Women Finish Regular Season Undefeated, Split Results with Georgia Tech
ATLANTA, Ga. – The South Carolina swimming and diving team split results with Georgia Tech in the final dual meet of the season on Friday evening inside McAuley Aquatic Center.
The No. 19 Gamecock women secured a 197-102 win over the Yellow Jackets while the men came up short, 151-137. South Carolina earned 19 event wins vs. Georgia Tech, including six sweeps between the men and women.
The women finish the 2025-26 dual meet season 7-0, marking the first undefeated season since 1985.
WOMEN
- The 200 medley relay team of Amy Riordan, Elizabeth Goodwin-Birnie, Taylor Grimley and Dylan Scholes finished second with a time of 1:38.57.
- Nora Fluck picked up the first win of the day in the 1000 freestyle, clocking a time of 9:44.73. Emma Reiser followed behind in second with a 9:46.17.
- Alexis Dalton secured a win in the 100 breaststroke, recording a time of 1:01.69. Caroline Kudela finished in second with a time of 1:02.06.
- Jordan Agliano grabbed a win in the 200 butterfly, turning in a time of 1:54.87. She also won the 100 butterfly with a time of 52.87.
- Kara West recorded her own event win in the 50 freestyle, finishing with a time of 22.59. West also claimed the 100 freestyle title, clocking a time of 49.30.
- On the diving side, Sophie Verzyl continued her hot streak as she won the 3-meter dive competition with a score of 378.38. She also won the 1-meter dive with a score of 320.33.
- Riordan earned herself another 200 backstroke win on the season as she found the wall first with a time of 1:53.16.
- Delaney Franklin earned her seventh straight win in the 200 breaststroke as she turned in a time of 2:11.85. She also picked up a win in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:12.90.
- Breckin Gormley secured the 500 freestyle victory as she turned in a time of 4:43.14.
MEN
- On the men’s side, the team of Ryan Hufford, Einar Agustsson, Eldor Usmonov and Quinn Buck picked up second place, turning in a time of 1:26.03.
- Connor Fry completed the sweep in the 1000 freestyle, touching the wall first with a time of 9:03.92.
- Pierre Largeron grabbed a win in the 200 freestyle, notching a time of 1:35.09. Largeron also earned a win in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:21.32.
- Einar Agustsson took home the 100 breaststroke victory with a time of 52.36. He also claimed the 200 breaststroke title, notching a time of 1:56.91.
- Usmonov finished second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.07. Buck finished behind him in third with a 20.47. Usmonov picked up the win in the 100 butterfly with a time of 46.29.
- Merlin Ficher earned his first event win of the day in the 200 backstroke, recording a time of 1:43.96.
- Charley Bayer finished second in both the 1-meter (333.98) and the 3-meter (285.30).
Up Next for the Gamecocks
A select group of Gamecocks will compete at the UVA Cavalier Invitational from Feb. 5-7 as a last chance meet before the 2026 SEC Championship meet later next month.
