Verzyl Claims Fifth SEC Weekly Honor of the Season

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina senior diver Sophie Verzyl earned her fifth SEC Diver of the Week honor, the league announced Tuesday. The award marks the 14th weekly honor of her career.

In the final dual meet of the season, the Columbia, S.C., native swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter events for the sixth time this year. She scored a 320.33 on the 1-meter and a 378.38 on the 3-meter. Verzyl leads the SEC on both boards, highlighted by her record-breaking performance at the Tennessee Invitational earlier this season.

The senior will look to defend her 3-meter title at this year’s SEC Championships while also pursuing her first conference title on the 1-meter, after earning silver in 2025.
