Swimming and Diving Heads to SEC Championships in Knoxville
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Swimming and Diving team is set to compete at the 2026 SEC Championship meet hosted by the University of Tennessee at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center from Feb. 16-21.

Spectator parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis at Volunteer Boulevard West, the G-11, G-7 and G-17 Garages on Tennessee’s campus.
REGULAR SEASON RECAP
The women’s program went undefeated (7-0) in dual meets in the regular season for the first time in 40 years. The Gamecocks have been ranked in the CSCAA Top 25 poll for each of the last 11 polls dating back to last season. Their highest ranking of the season comes in at No. 15 in November after starting the season at No. 17. The team finished the regular season at No. 18, picking up several SEC Weekly Honors along the way. Sophie Verzyl continued her success, picking up five Diver of the Week Honors. Additionally, Amy Riordan earned two Swimmer of the Week awards.
Combined, the men and women set 21 new records. Riordan claimed four pool records, including breaking the 200 backstroke pool twice (1:52.28/1:51.78), the 100 backstroke at Arkansas (52.41), and one school & pool record (200 freestyle – 1:43.75). Nora Fluck broke the 1000 freestyle record twice with times of 9:43.81 on Oct. 8 and 9:43.64 on Oct. 31. Verzyl broke the pool and school record in the 1-meter with her performance at the Tennessee Invitational in November with a score of 375.15. The Gamecock Invitational saw two individual records fall on the men’s side, with swims from Pierre Largeron (school – 500 freestyle – 4:13.93) and Einar Agustsson (school – 100 breaststroke – 51.78). Additionally, the women set the 800 freestyle pool record in a 7:08.88. The team set an additional nine pool records against Queens at the Levine Aquatic Center in Charlotte.
