COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Swimming & Diving program has added a diving-only meet to this week’s schedule, head diving coach Todd Sherritt announced today. Both the men’s and women’s divers will travel to Atlanta, Ga., to face Georgia Tech on Friday, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m. ET.
The schedule addition does not change Carolina’s previously-scheduled women’s dual meet against Vanderbilt, which is still on the calendar for Saturday, Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. CT.
The Gamecocks last competed on Jan. 8, a dual meet against Duke. The Carolina men fell to the Blue Devils, 154-146, while the women’s team dropped a 187-113 decision.
Carolina’s divers have already competed at the McAuley Aquatic Center this season, taking part in the Georgia Tech Invitational from Nov. 19-21. On the women’s side, Julia Vincent finished second in both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions, and Allyson Neid led the Gamecocks with a fourth place result in the platform.
On the men’s side, Jordan Gotro was South Carolina’s top performer, placing seventh in the 1-meter, eighth in the 3-meter, and 11th in the platform.
UP NEXT FOR CAROLINA
Both Gamecock squads are back at the Carolina Natatorium to compete Jan. 22-23, when they host UNC Wilmington, Queens and Wingate in a quad meet. It’s Senior Day in Columbia, as the Gamecocks will honor their departing student-athletes prior to their final home meet.
