COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina women’s tennis sophomore Caroline Dailey won her second doubles title this month at an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Summer Circuit event in Gainesville, Fla., on Monday at the University of Florida’s Linder Stadium at the Ring Tennis Complex.

Dailey teamed up with Alexandra Baer, who will be a freshman at Michigan State this fall, for the tournament. Baer was her same partner when she won a doubles title in Tallahassee, Fla., in early July. The duo defeated Alabama junior Natalia Maynetto and incoming Crimson Tide freshman Bennett Dunn in the championship by a 6-1 score.

Dailey also competed in the singles tournament, scoring a 6-2, 6-1 victory in her first match against Mercer junior Liza Klyachkin. In the round of 16, she lost to Harvard freshman Ellen Jang Milsten 6-2, 6-4.

Dailey went 20-11 in singles play as a freshman for the Gamecocks and was 14-13 in doubles. She ended the season playing the No. 5 singles position and was at No. 3 for doubles as well. Dailey and Ximena Siles Luna, her doubles partner to end the 2014 campaign, registered one victory over a nationally ranked team in their short time together.

The Gamecocks have seen a great deal of success thus far with the ITA Summer Circuit. Last week, newcomer Hadley Berg won the singles and doubles titles at a tournament in Stockton, Calif. Berg reached the singles final at another event in California this month as well.
