IRVINE, Calif –

Current South Carolina swimmers Jonathan Boland, Alex Vance and Victoria Mitchell, along with former Gamecock Michael Flach competed last week in the 2014 Phillips 66 National Championships. The event ran August 6-10 at the William Wollett, Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine, Calif.

Mitchell swam in four events, highlighted by a 17th place finish in the women’s 1500 meter freestyle. Vance and Boland competed in the men’s 200 meter backstroke and 200 meter breaststroke, placing 55th and 75th, respectively. Flach took 40th place in the men’s 200 meter butterfly and 53rd in the 200 meter freestyle.
