AZUSA, Calif. – Freshman Alexandre Asselin and sophomore Sarah Graham completed their first decathlon and heptathlon of the season at Mt SAC Relays at Azusa Pacific University on Thursday.

Entering the day, Asselin sat in 11th place with 3,691 points. Behind several collegiate bests on Thursday, he ultimately finished 10th with 6,210 points. Asselin posted his best marks in the Garnet and Black in the 110-meter hurdles (15.51), the discus (118-00 // 35.98m) and pole vault (13-05.25 // 4.10m). Asselin earned the result despite not finishing the final event of the competition, the 1,500-meter run.

In a strong field, Graham hit the sixth-best heptathlon point total in school history, tallying a personal-best 5,215 points in the heptathlon. The total is nearly a 1,000-point increase from her previous best. Graham set new lifetime bests in the javelin at 88’10” (27.09m) and the 800-meter run at 2:21.69. The Gamecock finished 18th overall and 10th collegiately.
