COLUMBIA, S.C. – Three South Carolina Gamecocks were named to the 2013 SEC All-Freshman Team as voted on by the SEC’s 14 head coaches. Pharoh Cooper was twice recognized as an all-purpose player and return specialist with Skai Moore picking up honors at linebacker and Elliott Fry at placekicker.
Cooper ranked third on the team with 603 all-purpose yards including 193 rushing, 54 receiving, 40 on punt returns and 316 on kick returns. He also completed 2-of-3 passes for 29 yard and a touchdown.
Fry led the Gamecocks with 95 points as a freshman placekicker, the fifth-highest single-season total in school history. Fry connected on 15-of-18 field goal attempts and 50-of-51 extra points. His 50 PAT’s in a season is one shy of Spencer Lanning’s record set in 2010. Fry was named SEC Freshman of the Week after kicking a career-high four field goals in the 19-14 win over Florida.
Moore led the Gamecocks in tackles with 51 on the year. He played in all 12 games with four starts. He also had two interceptions and a fumble recovery. One of the interceptions and the fumble recovery came in the 31-17 win over Clemson.
