Gameday Central

COLUMBIA, S.C. – As part of Gamecock Club Appreciation Day on Thursday, student-athletes and coaches from all of South Carolina’s varsity athletic teams have been invited to participate in the Gamecock Walk, preceding the football team down The Garnet Way inside Gamecock Park (former Farmer’s Market).

The Gamecock Walk for all athletic teams will begin at approximately 3:30 p.m. ET and will follow the same path as the Gamecock football team.

“The Gamecock Club has provided financial support for our student-athletes to get a quality education and compete in intercollegiate athletics at a high level for many years,” said athletics director Ray Tanner. “This is a great opportunity for our current student-athletes to thank Gamecock Club members for their loyalty and support.”

Thursday will mark Gamecock Club Appreciation Day. The Gamecock Club tent will be located inside Gamecock Village and will open at 1:30 p.m. ET. The first 3,000 members to show their membership card will receive a limited-edition car flag (please note: one flag per member) and the Gamecock Club tent is the only location to pick up a Gamecock Club Appreciation Day commemorative rally towel.

Gamecock Park parking lots will open at Noon, while other athletic department lots – the Fairgrounds, Armory, ETV and the Stadium, will open at 1 p.m. ET. Nashville singer-songwriter Patrick Davis will hold a concert in the Gamecock Park amphitheater from 3-5 p.m. ET, and early gates (4, 14, 16, 22, 25) open at 4 p.m. ET, before all gates open at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Game time for the North Carolina contest is set for 6 p.m. ET, with the contest to be televised on ESPN.
