COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina sophomores Patricia Kranz and Cole Miller have been named the SEC Divers of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Kranz received Female Diver of the Week honors after leading the Gamecock women’s team to a 169-126 victory over College of Charleston last Friday. A native of Davie, Fla., Kranz won the one-meter springboard with a career-high score of 344.93, which ranks first in the SEC. She then placed first on the three-meter board with a career-best mark of 372.38, which is the second-best score in the conference. On the season, Kranz has six first-place finishes.

Miller, a native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, finished first on the three-meter board and second on the one-meter board in a 178-115 win over College of Charleston to earn the Male Diver of the Week award. Miller’s score of 424.05 in the three-meter competition, which is a career-high and ranks second in SEC, was 3.38 points shy of the school record. His one-meter score of 380.18, also a career-high, is the third best score in the conference this season.

Kranz, Miller and the rest of the Gamecock swimmers and divers will be back in action this week at the Virginia Tech Invitational in Christiansburg, Va. The event runs Thursday through Saturday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
