The University of South Carolina Gamecocks are ranked 13th in the second BCS Standings released tonight. The Gamecocks (6-2, 4-2 SEC) are ranked 17th in this week’s Associated Press poll and 16th in the USA Today/Coaches’ poll.

The Gamecocks have dropped two straight games to teams ranked among the nation’s top 10. Four SEC teams are among the top 10 teams in the BCS Standings, with Alabama and Florida holding the top two spots. LSU comes in at number six, while Georgia is number 10. In addition, Mississippi State is ranked 11th in this week’s BCS Standings.

Carolina will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts the Tennessee Volunteers (3-4, 0-4 SEC). Game time is set for noon at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia. ESPN will televise the contest nationally with Dave Pasch and Brian Griese in the booth and Jenn Brown on the sidelines.
