SOUTH CAROLINA VS. TENNESSEE – Nov. 2, 2002

The first period fumble recovery by deep snapper Kevin Saylor was the first of the senior’s career. The recovery set up a 26 yard field goal by Daniel Weaver. It was Weaver’s eighth field goal of the season. Weaver missed a 37 yard field goal attempt late in the first half. His career field goal totals are 22 of 31.

The third quarter recovery of a Tennessee fumble by Moe Thompson was the first recovery of the season for the freshman. The fumble was caused by senior nose tackle Langston Moore. The Thompson recovery set up an early fourth quarter three yard touchdown run by redshirt freshman Thez Robinson. It was Robinson’s first career touchdown.

The announced attendance of 83,918 was South Carolina’s fifth consecutive sellout crowd of the season, and the second largest crowd of the year. It was the fifth largest crowd ever in Williams-Brice Stadium. The Georgia game drew a crowd of 84,227. Total attendance for five games this season is 413,521, an average of 82,704 per game.

South Carolina’s 45 yards passing against Tennessee was a season low. The previous low was 119 yards through the air against Virginia in the second game of the season.
