University of South Carolina freshman running back Marcus Lattimore has been named to the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) 10th annual Freshman All-America team, it was announced today.
Lattimore, a 6-0, 218-pounder from Duncan, S.C., finished his freshman season with 249 carries for 1,197 yards and 17 rushing touchdowns. He added 29 receptions for 412 yards and two more scores in helping the Gamecocks to a 9-5 record and the school’s first SEC Eastern Division title.
Lattimore had previously been named to Freshman All-America teams by Sporting News, CBSSportsline.com, Rivals.com, Phil Steele publications and CollegeFootballNews.com. He was also named National Freshman of the Year by each of those five media outlets.
