The SEC Eastern Division champion South Carolina Gamecocks practiced Monday afternoon at the Atlanta Falcons’ indoor facility in Flowery Branch, Ga. It was the squad’s first workout since arriving in Atlanta on Sunday following the Christmas break.

The team was originally scheduled to practice at Decatur High School, but with wintery weather producing temperatures in the 30s and a wind chill that made it feel like the 20s, the Gamecocks opted to move their practice indoors.

The Gamecocks (9-4) are preparing for the 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl against the Florida State Seminoles (9-4) in the Georgia Dome on Friday, December 31. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and the contest will be televised nationally on ESPN with Ron Franklin and Ed Cunningham in the booth and Jeannine Edwards working the sidelines.

The team will enjoy a team dinner tonight at Fogo de Chao, then will return to practice on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Georgia Dome.
