CAREER
Served as the kickoff specialist in his final two seasons for the Gamecocks… boomed 94 kickoffs for Carolina, averaging 61.6 yards per kickoff… scored four points on 4-for-5 extra point attempts… kicked for two seasons at Tusculum before transferring to South Carolina after the 2016 season… connected on 18-of-29 field goal attempts and 52-of-59 PATs at Tusculum.
2019
Senior kicker who handled the bulk of the kickoff duties all season… boomed 53 kickoffs with 32 accounting for touchbacks (60.3 percent)… averaged 61.3 yards per kickoff with just one kick out of bounds… also scored four points on 4-of-5 extra point attempts, all coming in the win over Charleston Southern… graduated in December.
2018
Junior who took over the kickoff duties early in the season… handled those duties over the final eight games of the season… recorded 31 touchbacks on 41 kickoffs… averaged 62.1 yards on his kickoffs… went through spring drills with the Gamecocks but was not on the preseason 110-man roster.
2017
Attended South Carolina but did not participate in football.
2016
Named to the preseason All-South Atlantic Conference first team… connected on 7-of-15 field goal attempts and 19-of-21 extra points in his sophomore season for the Tusculum Pioneers, a Division II school in Tennessee.
2015
Earned All-South Atlantic Conference first-team honors, becoming the first freshman placekicker at Tusculum to earn that distinction… made 11-of-14 field goals… hit his first four field goal tries and his final seven, including a season-long 46-yarder vs. Catawba… led the team with 66 points… connected on 33-of-38 PATs… recorded 31 touchbacks on 62 kickoffs.
HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated from Emerald High School in Greenwood, S.C. in 2015… coached by Tim McMahon… logged 65 touchbacks on 75 kickoffs… connected on 9-of-12 field goals and averaged 36.7 yards per punt… was a 2014 all-region selection, earned all-state honors from the High School Sports Report and was an All-Lakelands kicker… named the team MVP and was Emerald’s Wendy’s Heisman recipient… also earned all-region and All-Lakelands honors in soccer while being named his team’s MVP in that sport as well… was a member of the 20112 soccer regional championship squad.

William Ryan Tommie was born January 24, 1996… is an interdisciplinary studies major who graduated in December 2019… brother Christopher, was a kicker/punter at Wofford from 2005-09… brother, Jeremy, played football at Presbyterian from 2010-12.
