GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 6/5 Florida (42-7, 20-4 SEC) closed out the regular season with a 9-0 win in five innings over South Carolina (11-40, 1-27 SEC) on Sunday afternoon at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

Gator starter Stephanie Brombacher (28-5) tossed a one-hitter, walking three while striking out three in the contest. Aja Paculba and Kelsey Bruder both went 2-for-2 with two runs scored for Florida.

Florida plated two in the first, with Megan Bush driving in the initial run ahead of Brittany Schutte’s theft of home on the double-steal play. Paculba’s second-inning sacrifice fly gave the Gators a 3-0 lead. In the third, Francesca Enea lined the 1-1 pitch over the wall in left for her 20th homer of the year. Two batters later, Bush had an RBI double to hand Florida the 5-0 advantage.

The Gators posted two more in the fourth on a two-RBI double by Michelle Moultrie. Kelsey Horton ended the game in the fifth with her fifth homer of the year, this one a two-run shot off the scoreboard in left center.

Gamecock junior April Borchardt (4-6) allowed five earned runs on six hits and three walks in 2.1 innings in the loss. Sophomore Evan Childs had the only hit for South Carolina on the day.
