MYRTLE BEACH, SC –
Yaron Peters, Trey Dyson, Drew Meyer and Brian Buscher combined to drive in 10 runs Sunday as fifth ranked South Carolina downed Coastal Carolina 11-2 for a three game sweep of the Baseball at the Beach tournament.

Gary Bell, 3-0, allowed four hits ad one run over six innings to receive credit for the win as the unbeaten Gamecocks improved to 9-0. Seamus Donovan, 0-1, took the loss as Coastal dropped to 6-3. The Gamecocks also defeated Virginia Commonwealth and ninth ranked Georgia Tech in the three day round robin event. Georgia Tech was 2-1, Coastal Carolina 1-2, and VCU was 0-3.

Peters drove in single runs with an infield out, a single and a sacrifice fly to increase his season RBI total to 17 in nine games. Dyson, who also has 17 RBI, hit a three run home run, his second of the season, in the third inning. Meyer had an RBI triple in the first inning and drove in another run with a fourth inning single. Buscher tied a school record with two triples. The second drove in the final two Gamecock runs in the ninth inning. His first triple came in the fourth inning.

Jon Coutlangus, who scored three times, also tripled as South Carolina had four three baggers in the game. The four triples were South Carolina’s first three base hits of the season.

Chad Felty hit his second home run of the season in the second inning and the other Coastal run scored in the seventh inning off Gamecock relief pitcher Steven Bondurant. Coastal managed six hits by six different players with Ryan McGraw, Steve Pinnochio and Brett Grandstrand contributing doubles.

Coutlangus, Meyer, Buscher and Landon Powell had two hits each for South Carolina as the Gamecocks collected 11 total hits.

The Gamecock defense played its sixth errorless game of the season. South Carolina has committed only four errors in nine games.
