Tallahassee, Fla. –
Martin Rominger and Brent Delahoussaye finish in the top 20 of the Seminole Intercollegiate to elevate South Carolina to a sixth place. After entering the final round in ninth place, USC fired the third-lowest round of the day, 293, jumping three spots.

North Carolina, blasting a three-round score of 875, led the 15-team field. UAB was five strokes back in second while Duke finished in third place. UAB’s Graeme McDowell won the individual title with a ten-under-par score of 206.

USC’s Rominger shot consistently throughout the tournament with a three-under-par score of 213 (72-70-71). The Switzerland native finished in a four-way tie for second place. This marks Rominger’s second top 10 finish of the spring.

Joining Rominger in the top 20 is teammate Brent Delahoussaye. Delahoussaye’s three-round total, 223, earned him a 19th place finish, his third-consecutive top 20 finish.

Freshman Alex Hamilton, improved his stroke average by four, finished third for the Gamecocks. Hamilton fired a three-round total of 228 (78-76-74). Johan Kok placed 62nd with a score of 234, while Scott Feaster rounded out the Gamecock’s five man squad in a tie for 66th place.

In his first tournament of the season, Matt Giffin, competing as an individual, finished 30th with a score of 227.

The Gamecocks head to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to compete in the Conrad-Rehling Spring Invitational on March 15-17. The Capstone Club will host the weekend event. The first round of action tees off on March 15 at 8:00 a.m.
