South Carolina shot 300 in the final round of competition at the Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational to finish in 15th place. Augusta State led the 15-team field with a three-round score of 865. The Demon Deacons of Wake Forest placed second, while NC State finished third.

Leading the way for the Gamecocks was freshman Martin Rominger who posted his fourth top 20 finish of the season. Rominger fired a three-round total of 219 to finish in a tie for 20th.

Brent Delahoussaye blasted three rounds of 75 to tie for 48th with a score of 225. Nash Elliot finished third for the Gamecocks after shooting 229. Elliot placed 65th, while teammate Matt Giffin stands in 69th place.

After shooting 81 in the first round of action, Giffin improved in the later rounds, shooting 75 and 76. One stroke behind Giffin at 233 was USC junior Johan Kok. Kok’s final round of 81 dropped him to 70th place.

NC State’s Justin Walters won the individual title after posting a nine-under par 207.

The Gamecocks take a two week break before they head to the Cleveland Golf-ASU Invitational hosted by Augusta State University on April 6-7.
