Columbia, S.C. – On Sunday, Sept. 23 the Gamecocks return to Eugene E. Stone III Stadium to host No. 24 Wake Forest at 2:00 p.m. The match-up between the Gamecocks and the Demon Deacons will begin at 2:00 p.m.

This is the 22nd meeting between the two teams with South Carolina leading the series, 9-8-4. Over the past two seasons, both South Carolina-Wake Forest matches have ended in a tie.

The Gamecocks are coming off a double overtime 1-0 victory over Charlotte. Seniors Ryan Stocking and Joey Worthen combined for the game-winning goal in the 117th minute.

At halftime of the Wake Forest match, Coach Berson will present a check from the 2001 Children’s Chance Benefit Soccer Clinic that he and his team sponsored earlier this year. Former football player and Children’s Chance board of directors member, Todd Ellis, will represent the foundation.

The USC men’s soccer team is inviting families of children touched by cancer to their match this Sunday, in recognition of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. All families are invited to attend the game free of charge. To register, please call the Children’s Chance office at 254-5996.

Following the game, everyone in attendance will have an opportunity to meet the Gamecocks and receive autographs.
