COLUMBIA, SC – The fourth-ranked South Carolina baseball team has added a game to its schedule and will play at Charleston Southern on Tuesday, May 14 at 4 p.m. The game fills a void in each team’s schedule. South Carolina’s game at Arkansas on April 7 was cancelled due to rain.

The game at Charleston Southern is a homecoming for South Carolina assistant coach Stuart Lake. Now in his fourth year at USC, Coach Lake played baseball for the Buccaneers from1993 and 1994 and earned his degree at CSU. This also marks a homecoming of sorts for junior shortstop Drew Meyer, a native of Charleston and graduate of Bishop England HS.

The Gamecocks and Buccaneers met earlier this year, in the Gamecocks first series of the season. South Carolina defeated Charleston Southern in all three games. The last time South Carolina played at Charleston Southern was in 1995 when USC defeated the Buccaneers 2-0.
