The NCAA Division I Softball Committee announced that the South Carolina Gamecocks will host one of eight NCAA Regional Softball Championships on May 16-19 at Beckham Field in Columbia, S.C. The SEC Eastern Division Champion Gamecocks (43-18, 20-10 SEC) are making their fourth consecutive NCAA Regional appearance, 12th overall.
The following teams (with their seedings) were selected for USC’s regional:
1. UCLA (50-6, 18-3 PAC 10) vs. 6. Liberty (24-33, 4-6 Big South)
2. Georgia (56-14, 18-12 SEC) vs. 5. UMBC (46-19, 21-4 Northeast)
3. South Carolina (43-18, 20-10 SEC) vs. 4. Eastern Kentucky (36-12, 16-2 Ohio Valley)
