Columbia, S.C. – University of South Carolina golfer, Jonathan Jackson, qualified for the U. S. Amateur on Monday, July 29 after shooting an eight-under-par 136 at the Pinewild Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C. He won the U.S. Amateur Sectional individual medalist title by three strokes.

This year’s amateur takes place on Aug. 19-25 at the Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

Nash Elliot, Alex Hamilton, Jake Thompson and Scott Feaster are currently competing in the South Carolina State Amateur.
