Oct. 25, 2002

If you aren’t a night owl but you are a Gamecock fan, get ready to set your VCRs for Wednesday, October 30 at 12:30 am (check your local listings)! That’s when CBS’s ‘The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn’ will feature South Carolina’s Gamecocks. With everything from ‘Cock Calls’, to t-shirts and caps, to uniforms and even a saddle, courtesy of the USC equestrian team, Kilborn’s set will be all Gamecocks on October 30. Both his desk and the audience will be head to tail Gamecocks.

Boxes of Gamecock have been shipped to Los Angeles, courtesy of USC’s coaching staffs and the university. A number of videos were sent including the following: USC men’s basketball players, Rolando Howell, Michael Boynton and Chuck Eidson, giving a tour of the new Carolina Center; 2001 from the Mississippi State football game and a number of fans speaking to Craig Kilborn. Kilborn will also read Gamecock trivia on air and has been sent student videos as well.

The CBS show will feature South Carolina next Wednesday (Oct. 30), thereby adding to the football frenzy surrounding next Saturday’s USC-Tennessee collegiate football matchup, which will air live at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on CBS. It will be South Carolina’s fifth appearance on national television this year.

Kilborn’s tentative guests on Wednesday include Frankie Muniz (Malcolm on ‘Malcolm in the Middle’) and comedian Graham Elwood. The Kilborn show highlights a different university each Wednesday night during football season, usually in conjunction with the most anticipated Saturday CBS football broadcast.
