The South Carolina women’s golf team recorded a 300 on Saturday for a total of 599 and stands in seventh place heading into Sunday’s final round of the Auburn Tiger Derby Invitational at the Auburn University Golf Course. The Lady Gamecocks have a total of 599 for the tournament which features 11 of 13 teams that are ranked currently in the nation’s top 22. Nineteenth-ranked Tennessee continues to lead the field with a total score of 586.

The final round will begin at 9 a.m. (ET) in a shotgun start.

Junior Adrienne Gautreaux had the best round of the day for the Lady Gamecocks, firing a one-over 73 on Saturday for a two day total of 147. Gautreaux stands in a tie for 13th place and is two strokes out of the Top 10. All-American Kristy McPherson is in 16th place after recording a four-over 76 and has a total of 148. Rounding out the South Carolina contingent Saturday were junior Marci Robinson (76, 151, T26th), junior Kory Thompson (75, 153, T 37th) and freshman Erica Battle (82, 160, T64th). Sophomore Tiffany Catafygiotu had a three-over 75 Saturday for a total of 158 and is tied for 59th place while vying for individual honors only.

Tennessee fired a 297 on Saturday and leads 10th-ranked Texas and fourth-ranked Auburn by two strokes. Texas and Auburn each have a 588 while third-ranked Arizona is one stroke back in fourth place after firing a 293 on Saturday. Fifth-ranked Duke is in fifth place with a total score of 593. The Lady Gamecocks lead top-ranked Oklahoma State by two and second-ranked Vanderbilt by three strokes.

Summer Simmons of Georgia is in the lead by one stroke after firing an even-par 72 on Saturday for a total score of three-under 141. Erica Blasberg of Arizona (70) and Diana Ramage of Auburn (73) are tied for second with a 142. Tennessee’s Golda Johansson (73) is in fourth place with a 142, while Celeste Troche of Auburn, Violeta Retamoza of Tennessee, and Whitney Code of Florida are tied for fifth place with a 144.
