The Gamecocks took two out of four single championships and one of three doubles this weekend at the Southern Intercollegiate Tournament. The Gamecocks lowest single finish was fourth place while no Gamecock doubles team finished lower than third.

In doubles play, Catherine Brown and Magda Wojdylo defeated Natasha Lucki and Ana Simanca 8-3. The win gave them a third place finish in the A1 doubles draw. In the A2 doubles draw, Danielle Wiggins and Ayako Suzuki defeated Clemson’s Ana Stiglic and Richele Lesaldo 8-6 in the final. Jodi Kenoyer and Audrey George were runner-ups in the A3 draw. Kenoyer and George defeated Kristen Cotton and Kristen Munn of Western Carolina 8-0 but then dropped the doubles final to Rosemary Younger and Stephanie Koot of Coastal Carolina 9-8(5).

Two of the four single finals were an all Gamecock showdown. The top draw, A1, saw Kenoyer defeating teammate Wiggins 6-2, 7-6(6). The other all Gamecock final displayed Wojdylo defeating teammate Suzuki 6-0, 6-2 in the A2 singles. Brown finished in third place in the A2 singles while George finished fourth in the B1 singles.

The Gamecocks will return to action this week when they head to the Peachtree City Racquet Club to compete for the SEC Indoor Tournament.
