Columbia, SC – USC football student-athletes Lance Laury and Dondrial Pinkins traveled to Birmingham, Ala., Tuesday to have a consultation with sports orthopedist Dr. James Andrews. USC team orthopedist Dr. Jeff Guy and head athletic trainer Dr. Rod Walters accompanied the two players on the trip.

Laury, a rising sophomore linebacker from Hopkins, S.C., underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. The surgery was performed by Dr. Andrews and Dr. Guy. Laury will miss the remainder of spring practice and is expected to begin rehabilitation immediately.

Pinkins, a rising junior from Camilla, Ga., who has been bothered by a sore right elbow during spring drills, was examined by Dr. Andrews. The examination confirmed an earlier diagnosis by the USC medical team that Pinkins has an elbow sprain. Pinkins will continue to participate in spring practice and will also continue the rehab on his elbow.

Both players returned to Columbia Tuesday evening along with Dr. Guy and Dr. Walters.
