Athens, Ga. –
Due to non-stop rain in the Athens, Ga. area, the final softball game between South Carolina and Georgia has been cancelled. Originally scheduled for a 5 p.m. start this evening, the game was cancelled earlier Thursday morning.

Georgia won both games on Wednesday as they beat the Gamecocks 4-0 and 10-2 in six innings. South Carolina fell to 28-12 overall and 12-7 in the SEC, while Georgia improved to 41-7 and 16-4 in the SEC.

The Gamecocks return to action this weekend when they host No. 21 Florida. A doubleheader against the Gators is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. and a single game will be Sunday at 1 p.m.
