Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina finished the second day of competition in 29th place after two rounds of play at the 2003 NCAA Championships at the Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla. The Gamecocks posted a two-round score of 644 (313-331).

UCLA leads the 30-team field with a score of 598. Just one stroke back in second place is host Oklahoma State. Clemson is in third, while Florida and Auburn are tied for fourth place.

Freshman Eirik Johansen continues to lead the way for the Gamecocks with a two-round score of 155. Johansen, currently tied for 54th, posted three-over-par 75 in the first round, followed by 80 in round two. With a two-day total of 158, Martin Rominger stands in 84th place.

Posting a score of 160 (79-81) Alex Hamilton is tied for 97th place. Nash Elliott and teammate West Streib each posted scores of 89 in the second round of competition. Elliott is in 151st place, while Streib stands in 155th.

Auburn’s Lee Williams leads the individual field for a second straight day with a two-day total of 141.

The Gamecocks tee-off the third round of the four-day tournament on the 10th tee at 7:18 a.m. (CST) on Thursday, May 29.
