The South Carolina women’s swimming team will host the University of Miami Hurricanes tomorrow at the Carolina Natatorium in what promises to be an exciting meet.

Last time out for the Gamecocks at Kentucky, the women’s team took home first in the 200 medley relay (1:47.68)and the 200 freestyle relay (1:35.05). For the individual events, first place finishes included Jennifer Van Assen in the 200 freestyle (1:52.47), Ashleigh Bastak in the 50 freestyle (23.99), Haley Skaggs in the 100 freestyle (52.63), Bronwyn Dedekind in the 200 butterfly (2:09.74) and junior diver Holly Hodges took home the top spot in the 1 meter diving competition.

When asked what he hopes to accomplish from this meet, Coach Gibb stated “We are coming down the backstretch here with about a month of preparation before the SEC Championships. We need to stay sharp and focused before that time and its good that we have three meets in a row. Our team has a chance to compete at home, which is good, as our team continues to train before the big meets at the end of the year.”

Action is set to begin at 11 am.
