Charleston, S.C. – The University of South Carolina women’s tennis team won their second consecutive match with a 6-1 win against the College of Charleston on Thursday at Patriots Point in Charleston. The Gamecocks improved to 8-4 overall while the Cougars dropped to 7-5 on the season.

USC took all three doubles matches and five of the six singles match to take the 6-1 win. The Gamecocks picked up victories at each position but the number one singles match on Thursday. Carolina took all three double matches by scores of 8-3 to take a 1-0 lead into the singles. Four of the six singles matches went two sets and all in favor of Carolina. The two matches that went three sets were at number one and five singles and both teams would split those matches with the Cougars taking the number one flight while USC would take the number five match.

The Gamecocks return home to face No. 15 Harvard on Saturday at 1pm.
