The University of South Carolina Women’s Swimming and Diving teams had two top five finishes today in the second day of the NCAA Championships hosted by Texas A&M led by Jennifer Van Assen and Allison Brennan.

Senior Jennifer Van Assen took home second place honors in the 200 Meter Freestyle coming in with a time of 1:57.66. after finishing first in prelims this morning. Allison Brennan, who took home the first place in yesterdays 1-Meter diving event, took fourth place tonight in the 3-Meter event also after finishing first this morning in prelims.

Head Diving Coach Todd Sherritt was pleased with Brennan’s performance this evening. “It’s been a great two days for her and she has stayed in the hunt the entire time. The competition was great and made it a very exciting meet” stated Sherritt. “I am very happy for her.”

The Gamecocks are currently in 10th place with 84.5 points and return to action on the last day of events tomorrow.
