Coastal defeated The Citadel 12-3 on March 10 in Charleston, and 8-5 on May 11 in Conway.

Coastal leads the all-time series 32-30.

The Citadel

– Chip Cannon’s homer in the second inning was his 17th on the season. The 17 homers lead the Bulldogs and it tied the Citadel single season record.

– Matt Covington’s homer in the fifth inning was the his first of his career.

– Ellis did not allow a hit until the sixth inning. He faced 18 batters through five innings before allowing the lead-off hitter in the sixth inning to reach on a bloop single. He finished the game with 13 strikeouts which is a career high for him. (12 vs. App. State, 4-2-04) The complete game was his fourth consecutive and ninth on the season.

– Chris Ard recorded a season high four RBI’s. His previous season high was three against Winthrop on March 24 and 27th and also against Charleston Southern on April 7.

– The Bulldogs have won nine of their last 11 games.

– Advances to play the loser of the South Carolina-North Carolina game at 7pm.

Coastal Carolina

– The start was Steven Carter’s 68th of his career and he finished his career with 389 strikeouts.
